Where it fits. Thermoplastic elastomer is a quiet, non-marking tread built for finished floors. It combines the low rolling resistance of a hard wheel with a cushioned ride that absorbs floor seams and thresholds, which reduces both noise and the push force an operator has to apply. This swivel model rotates a full 360 degrees and is normally specified two per cart with two rigid casters at the opposite end, or four per cart where the equipment has to move sideways in tight aisles.
Construction. The body is molded from glass filled nylon and will not rust or corrode. It uses a threaded stem attachment. This model is supplied with a total lock brake. A steel precision sealed bearing carries the load.
Load and duty. The 220 lb rating is per caster. Standard practice is to size a four-caster set assuming three casters carry the load, so this model supports roughly a 650 lb cart with margin for shock loading and uneven floors. Continuous operating range is -4°F to 122°F.
About the line. The Tandem twin wheel series pairs a glass filled nylon body with quiet, non-marking 85A TPE wheels, integrated nylon thread guards, and precision wheel bearings. The twin wheel layout spreads the load across two contact points for a lower rolling effort at a given capacity.
