Where it fits. Soft rubber is specified where quiet operation and floor protection outweigh capacity. The compliant tread absorbs shock and bridges floor seams, thresholds, and debris that would stop a harder wheel. Expect a lower load rating and more rolling effort than a hard tread of the same diameter.
Construction. The tread is molded to a polypropylene core. Hub width is 45mm. A 12-17mm steel single precision bearing fits a 12-17mm axle.
Load and duty. The 440 lb rating is per wheel. Standard practice is to size a four-wheel set assuming three wheels carry the load, so this wheel supports roughly a 1,300 lb cart with margin for shock loading and uneven floors. Continuous operating range is -20°F to 140°F.
