Where it fits. Rubber is the quietest tread offered and the gentlest on finished floors. It absorbs shock and rolls over debris and floor seams that would stop a hard wheel. Capacity per wheel is lower than a comparable hard tread, and rubber can mark some floor finishes.
Construction. The tread is molded to a cast iron core. Hub width is 2-7/16″. Thread guards are fitted to keep string, film, and debris out of the bore. A 1/2″ steel roller bearing fits a 1/2″ axle.
Load and duty. The 800 lb rating is per wheel. Standard practice is to size a four-wheel set assuming three wheels carry the load, so this wheel supports roughly a 2,400 lb cart with margin for shock loading and uneven floors. Continuous operating range is -30°F to 130°F.
