Where it fits. Thermoplastic polyurethane is the general-purpose upgrade tread. It is non-marking, resists oils and most mild chemicals, and carries more load than rubber at the same diameter without the noise of a hard tread. TPU holds its shape under sustained static load, so carts parked loaded overnight are less prone to flat spots. This rigid model tracks straight and is normally specified two per cart with two swivel casters at the opposite end.
Construction. The yoke is formed from zinc-plated steel for corrosion resistance. It mounts on a 2-3/8″ x 3-5/8″ top plate with 2-15/16″ x 1-3/4″ bolt-hole centers. Thread guards are fitted to keep string, film, and debris out of the axle. A 5/16″ steel dual precision bearing rides on a 5/16″ axle for smooth, low-effort rolling.
Load and duty. The 200 lb rating is per caster. Standard practice is to size a four-caster set assuming three casters carry the load, so this model supports roughly a 600 lb cart with margin for shock loading and uneven floors. Continuous operating range is -30°F to 140°F.
About Series 20. Series 20 spans our light and medium duty caster range, from 150 lb to 400 lb per caster, in zinc plated steel, stainless steel, and rust-resistant plastic bodies. It is the general purpose line for day-to-day cart, rack, and equipment service. The series also includes our Precision Raceway casters, which use a precision bearing raceway in the swivel to cut rolling effort and noise.
