Where it fits. Polyurethane combines high load capacity with floor protection. The tread is non-marking, resists oils and most chemicals, and carries substantially more weight than rubber at the same diameter while still cushioning the load. It is the standard choice where capacity and floor finish both matter. This swivel model rotates a full 360 degrees and is normally specified two per cart with two rigid casters at the opposite end, or four per cart where the equipment has to move sideways in tight aisles.
Construction. The yoke is formed from stainless steel for corrosion resistance. It mounts on a 4″ x 4-1/2″ top plate. Thread guards are fitted to keep string, film, and debris out of the axle. A 1/2″ stainless steel Quad X bearing rides on a 1/2″ axle for smooth, low-effort rolling.
Load and duty. The 800 lb rating is per caster. Standard practice is to size a four-caster set assuming three casters carry the load, so this model supports roughly a 2,400 lb cart with margin for shock loading and uneven floors. Continuous operating range is -30°F to 180°F.
