Where it fits. HeatEater is our high temperature wheel line, built on glass filled nylon so the wheel can run through oven and proofer cycles without softening, glazing, or flat-spotting the way a standard tread would. Glass filled nylon is a high-strength tread that carries heavy loads at low rolling resistance and shrugs off water and most chemicals. It will not rust or corrode. Nylon is among the hardest treads offered, so it is best matched to smooth floors where capacity outweighs quiet. This swivel model rotates a full 360 degrees and is normally specified two per cart with two rigid casters at the opposite end, or four per cart where the equipment has to move sideways in tight aisles.
Construction. The yoke is formed from stainless steel for corrosion resistance. It mounts on a 3-1/8″ x 4-1/8″ top plate with 3-1/8″ x 2-1/16″ bolt-hole centers. A 3/8″ steel Quad X bearing rides on a 5/16″ axle for smooth, low-effort rolling.
Load and duty. The 300 lb rating is per caster. Standard practice is to size a four-caster set assuming three casters carry the load, so this model supports roughly a 900 lb cart with margin for shock loading and uneven floors. Continuous operating range is -20°F to 515°F.
About Series 20. Series 20 spans our light and medium duty caster range, from 150 lb to 400 lb per caster, in zinc plated steel, stainless steel, and rust-resistant plastic bodies. It is the general purpose line for day-to-day cart, rack, and equipment service. The series also includes our Precision Raceway casters, which use a precision bearing raceway in the swivel to cut rolling effort and noise.
